Is there any data on weight-loss for people that followed a vegetarian / vegan diet, compared to those who eat lots of meat / high protein? I have heard varying reports of what is better in terms of weight loss and know most of the facts. Are there any articles / data to substantiate either argument?
I’m not looking for diet advice. I’m healthy, fit and exercise regularly. Just looking for anything that supports either argument.

There is no difference.

It is the amount you eat that is the real factor.

I am a fat vegetarian. I have a high protien diet.

Well, I’m trying to lose some weight for the school year, and I need a little motivation to keep me going.
So, does anybody know any online program where you can map your progress, talk to other people, get tips, and stay motivated?

It’s great. It calculates how many calories you should eat a day in order to lose weight, and it has a food log and stuff.
Also, there is a group on it that you can join when you sign up for teenagers. Teenagers share their stories, and what they want to do, and the others help out. So you don’t feel left out. It’s a great program, and it helps you feel motivated to be able to listen to girls and guys your own age who are doing what your doing.

What kinds of crash diets have you heard of that someone could use to lose 10-15lbs in 4-5 weeks?

Please no "you need **** calories a day" or "omg, starvation mode"………..because I simply don’t care. I’m not actually doing a crash diet, nor do I want to. It’s just a question, nothing else. Thanks.

I’ve tried it before, and honestly, it makes you gain weight.
In middle school, i was feeling rather fat and decided to quit meat and dairy and ended up loosing weight FAST.
I went from 140 to 115 in like a month. I think that’s your best bet. When you crash diet, your body realizes it’s not going to be getting any food and then eats off what little you have stored in your body, in turn making you gain weight.
The only way a crash diet would work is if you starved yourself for months.

I have used the idiot proof diet, and it really does work. I lost about 30 pounds in one summer, so you do loose weight quickly. I like the IPD (idiot proof diet) because you do the diet for 11 days, and then you have 3 "cheat" days. I would highly recommend the diet, and it lets you choose the foods you will eat. I think it is by far the easiest diet to follow that I have found!
